Eskating cyclist, gamer and enjoyer of anime. Probably an artist. Also I code sometimes, pretty much just to mod titanfall 2 tho.
Introverted, yet I enjoy discussion to a fault.

3·22 hours agoI am quite hyped for this.
Especially the part about how I can play it on PC, day one.
Right. A human would never just draw a line and call it a day for a background detail.
Meinoss has a perfectly solid reputation.
And how she can’t share it 😱
?
It doesn’t work any different when using a single system.
Edit: I’m not referring to the old sustem where you’d authorize a system to play your games on other users.
I’m referring to the way you have to log in when switching to a new user.
You can have multiple accounts on a single deck. The switch is pretty quick, but you do need to auth in some way unless you set it to not require it. You do not need to install the same game multiple times. Essentially, if you’ve ever used the desktop client with multiple accounts, the functionality is very similar.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Can your ISP see a spike in your internet usage even if you are using a VPN?
12·7 days agoOf course.
Lots of cybercrime has been solved by law-enforcement by matching traffic logs based on timestamps and throughput.
I post on !animefeet@ani.social.
Nothing new here.
In case you’re not kidding… We are four days away from the third of september. The other way to represent a date.
That said this was posted on pixiv on march 9th .

2·8 days agoI doubt anyone here would mind.
You can also crosspost from a small community, to bigger ones with overlapping content. That gets a subset of people from the big community to check out where the post came from.

Open Source@lemmy.ml•LibreOffice 26.8 Doubles Down on No AI, Right After Collabora Welcomed It
9·8 days agoThat’s not what I’m saying at all. I’m saying Collaboras implementation is fundamentally unfit for use.
I used to host a CODE server.
It ran like shit, because it works by rendering the viewport on the remote system, not the client. Instead you essentially send every input to the server, wait for it to render the change, and then send that back to the client. Collabora is like using office software through vnc. Except all the time.
The responsiveness is atrocious. Especially if you try to use it over a less than ideal connection.
But it’s just fucking text data. It shouldn’t require the same infrastructure as remote gaming to be usable. It should be able to handle multiple seconds of latency, and just sync back up without the user ever noticing.
But it can’t. Because it RENDERS on the server. Which means the tiniest hiccup in the connection between server and user causes noticable issues.

452·8 days agoCollabora will never be good.
When I learned it’s “just” a libreoffice fork running on a remote server that is then screenshared to your browser…
The input latency and the graphical wierdness when resizing the viewport suddenly made sense.
I still want something better than onlyoffice for my nextcloud instance, but at least it is responsive.
I’ve seen people recognize Marcille as Zelda, the rest is just completely valid logic if that were her.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What exactly is the security of direct messages on lemmy? Does anyone actually use matrix?
2·9 days agoI use matrix.
I run an instance for myself an immediate family. I also federate with other instances to participate in some dev groups.
The most active matrix space I’m in, is the one hosted by ani.social. Daily activity on anime-related topics, and also fediverse, lemmy and software.
If you want to try it, the main “matrix.org” instance is far from easy to recommend though. Finding good public matrix instances is a challenge. As such the best way is probably to either host one yourself or know someone who does.
They are out there, though. I’ve seen people be happy with pikaviestin.fi, but that’s only for finnish people. Mozilla also has an instance, though I’ve no experience on it.
