In other words, Coca-Cola realized that they don’t need to spend $1 million dollars, they can just slap “Special Boy” on a bottle for 6 cents and achieve the same result.

So after watching the finale I’m feeling whelmed. I liked that it was largely just a story set in the Star Wars galaxy, I appreciate the lack of baggage, but I’m a little bummed that it just sort of ended.
I have so many questions after the show is over, questions that I hope are answerer in a future story, but I wish we got just a little bit.
How did the planet come to be hidden? What do the parents know about the “Great Work”, is it true or a lie? What happened to Jod? How will the New Republic act? Does this planet being discovered ruin someone elses secret plans? How does a planet whose sole goal is printing money work? How big is the planet/conspiracy? What about the other At planets? Why are they just abandoned? Who is/was the Pirate King (he was fuzzy/blurred out)?
I guess I’m excited for more.
Everyone knows I am the cheese, and I am the best character on the show.
So, you want a realistic, down-to-earth show… That’s completely off the wall?
Just two more miles.
Then you’ll be correct.
Whoops, I had the wrong sound Mario. Fixed.
click uh, ladies and gentlemen this is your Captain speaking. Wha. Hoo hoo. Yahoooo! Yahoo! Yah! Yayayayaya! click
(Edit: wrong sound)
Sick on Guess the Episode day? Why? Why?
I agree it was expected but it’s important that it happened.
I’ve always assumed Meta’s investment in Threads’s ActivityPub compatibility was purely to show the EU, “Hey look, we’re trying to follow the open standard.”
For that reason I’ve believed that giving Meta a VERY short leash was reasonable. While I believed them to be full of shit, I think extending an olive branch and allowing them to be part of the Fediverse at large was a worthwhile effort.
They have however put almost no effort into being a good part of the Fediverse. They’ve implemented minor features and sharing, just enough to say " technically we’re working on it."
Now we can see them directly blocking. Now maybe in a few days they’ll say “whoopsie”, but I think this clearly shows they truly have no interest or intention of being part of the Fediverse.
I’m not surprised by this. I fully expected this. But I was willing to give them a chance. Maybe they didn’t deserve that chance. I think they’ve certainly forfeited it now.
Thank the knife!
C-O-R-R-E-C-T and Correct was his name-o!
The other end of the phone call,
At the time (and possibly still) Dell was promoting laptops with Ubuntu preinstalled. These laptops also avoided the “Windows Tax” and were ~$50-$100 cheaper.
*The “Windows Tax” being that Windows cost money. Most companies just built the cost of Windows into their product with no (easy) method of not purchasing Windows. So if you bought a $800 laptop, you actually bought a $700 laptop plus a Window license, even if you never planned on using Windows.
Also worth adding, since this story was big many years ago, when the college was contacted they were fine with her laptop. They had no requirement that she use Wimdows.
To be fair I think she uses and is referred to as Carol during the entire film. In the sequel two characters use the name “Marvel”, one “Ms” and one “Captain”.
Of course it’s still surprising that you could watch a whole film and not be clear. In the first film there a very clear main character, and you know what film you’re watching, so that’s simple enough. In the second film one of the main characters fangirls over the character named “Captain Marvel”, so that’s straightforward.
Even worse when you accidentally see the video/article title before seeing the movie, and now expect an ending open to interpretation.
Not quite, although this was likely caused by Homer & Bart.
Close, but this scene contains dialogue.
It’s jam packed full of quotes because I’m Homer Simpson! Correct!
Actually the most widely used OS worldwide is Android. Nearly ½ of all devices are Android while only ¼ of all devices are Windows.
Now if you want to adjust the scope and only look at “desktop” operating systems then yes, that is the majority. However over the past 10 years Windows has declined by ~15%, the majority going to macOS, but a small percentage going to Linux. Linux is generally on the rise, albeit slowly.
Also keep in mind the data I’ve referenced above applies to ALL devices. The landscape changes dramatically when you look at console vs “PC” gaming. Console gaming is roughly ~60% of the traditional gaming market. So while a Windows user may not become a Linux user, they may disappear and become a console user, decreasing the number of Windows users.
While I fully expect Windows to be around for a while, unless a change is made it will continue to lose market share. It would be a mistake to look at these numbers and think Windows is safe and beloved. By all metrics Windows is going away. It’s not going to happen overnight, but 10 years from now?
