  • the harm caused by this software was “manifest and irreparable.”

Except it’s arguably not, because it’s not like the 1 million copies of the game was stolen and could not be sold anymore. The game is still available for sale, and it is still making them money - all people did was pirate a single copy of the game 1 million times.

Also, if they sold 20.8 million units, and assuming every single instance of pirating was done by people who did not buy the game (read: lots of people bought a legal copy and “pirated” it anyways for better performance on Yuzu), they lost out on 5% revenue as of this time of writing.

Very sad Nintendo couldn’t sell another $60 million worth of games /s

  • But this begs the question: why didn’t they just write an original series instead of seemingly doing everything “wrong”?

You answered your own question, friend:

Sounds like Netflix writers are a little too eager to make this work their own.

They basically character assassinated and/or completely changed everyone, including the female characters they were trying to prop up as being strong (Yennefer in the Netflix show is a screaming whining mess who can’t do anything on her own and dicks over Ciri while Yennefer in the books and games takes shit from nobody, especially when it comes to Ciri and Geralt). They even (surprised I am even saying this) blackwash Fringilla in the Netflix show, whose entire point in the books is that she looks and is extremely similar to Yennefer during a time when Geralt and Yennefer were broken up. Them expanding on Istredd (except for the weird pedophilia with a young Yennefer) and the head teacher of Hogwarts Aretuza was pretty cool, but the writers literally shoehorned their own issues and takes on the show with no respect to the original material.

Fwiw, they also bullied the hell out of Cavill on set for trying to keep things faithful to the books and playing the games because A) he’s a Witcher fan and 2) it was helping him get into character.

  • Anon is an iChud.

Macs are great for people who can barely figure out how to work a phone (read: 95% of the masses), sideloading apps is silly 99% of the time unless you actually know what you are doing (and if you have the knowhow to sideload apps, you’re most likely also running an Android device with something like grapheneOS), and ARM CPUs can also run on Windows machines. In fact, for that last point, I can either buy a Windows machine that utilizes either an ARM, AMD, Intel, or Snapdragon CPU or I can literally build my own PC by overpaying scalpers and use whatever the fuck I want while also being infinitely more repairable than a goddamn piece-of-shit Macbook.
