Name brand cola is no longer purchased in my household. I try to just not buy it period, but when I do, Sam’s cola is the drink of choice. Coke priced themselves out of my refrigerator. Even though I do think it is a superior product, no way in hell am I paying what they want me to.

11·20 hours agoAgreed. Supposedly all the best deals are on the apps, and the food is reasonably priced like it used to be if you play your cards right. However, to use those apps, you’re agreeing to binding arbitration in perpetuity should they fucking kill or maim you with their shitty food. That’s not a tradeoff I’m willing to make. I’m also not fond of ever giving anyone my data unless it’s absolutely necessary, so I just don’t go to these places unless I’m desperate and it’s the only thing open.

If you’re having a house party and everyone is drinking and you don’t want to cook, it’s handy, but 90% of the time, the premium is not worth it.

I’ve been taking a sabbatical essentially. Living off savings that was supposed to be for a down payment on a house (lol). Got to do a lot of traveling with the kids and I’ve been looking for a similar role elsewhere but haven’t secured anything yet. Thankfully, my wife still makes good money and we’re doing OK financially, but I’m not thrilled about my prospects in my field. It’s hard to be optimistic in a fascist AI hellscape.
