Theo is the example par excellence of a cultural mercenary. Now, overall this is, of course, a bad thing, because he has no actual loyalties and will prostitute (in the same way many of us do) himself to where he feels the winds of change are coming.
People who tar him as just another run of the mill conservative comedy podcaster, ala the Full Send boys, are missing that he is, quite often, the left leading edge of the reactionary comedy sphere, kinda a fun house mirror of Nick Mullen (who was/still to some degree is the right leaning edge of the revolutionary comedy sphere). However unlike, say, a Nick Fuentes, who critiques the right for the purposes of creating a more radical right, Theo is too dumb to actually have a political programme or coherent ideology, but is smart enough to know where his audience is.
Theo has very little loyalty to the powers that be, he is loyal to his audience and what they find funny, and loyal to a kind of loose libertarian value set. He’s like if libertarian’s were funny purpose sometimes.
That said, way better and more informed shit out there. Just, beware of thinking of your enemies as a truely consolidated whole, there are always areas of division and fracture, and Theo exemplifies one of those areas.
I love how it’s just a list of people the website owner has a problem with. Like PZ and Stalin in the same list is wild in terms of ‘fame’.
Like where is Adam Smith or idk John Locke?

Simple Boolean programs like that are pretty easy. It wouldn’t surprise me if they have multiple levels of these systems running simultaneously. Amazon loves to collect extraneous data to justify their middle management.

They wouldn’t be using cameras and facial recognition to track people. Too server intensive. What they are used for is anything involving legal. Besides, there are easier ways of doing this.
The employees have RFID chips in their badges, which is used to track their location, how fast they are moving, how long they stay in one place, how quickly they complete their tasks, how long they spend in the bathroom, etc.
In normal factories, these RFID chips are usually used exclusively for inventory control, normally tracking pallets and products that require a continuous chain of custody for insurance (think caustic chemicals, nuclear material, or more typically, car and airplane parts).
Amazon always has to push the envelope with this technology though, applying it in new, misanthropic, dystopian ways.

Christianity has always been a religion that assumes a coming Apotheosis. Not always through Armageddon (Gnostics did not believe in that) but a return of God to Earth to bestow judgement and even the scales on Earth.
The Rapture is just American-Christian fanfiction around that event, kinda like Purgatory for Catholics.
Edit: Also, this idea that the Bible was ‘mistranslated’ to be homophobic is some Unitarian Universalist or liberal Catholic headcanon rewriting.
‘Christianity’ may not have always been homophobic (not alot of evidence one way or the other way), but when the ‘Bible’ was canonized, there was an extremely likely homophobic interpretation of the Old Testament, as one of the historical insults of pagans by Christians of that period was that they slept with men and women indiscriminately.
That said, indiscriminate promiscuity was always an insult among the upper class of Roman society. You were meant to keep your indiscretions private, maintain ‘Roman virtue’. So it’s unclear if it is directly aimed at homosexuality or just sexuality in general, but regardless, the homophobia in the Bible is not a case of ‘mistranslation’. That is an extremely modern interpretation.

We have not confirmed if they are Earth bears or bears of lunar origin.

I wonder what kind of ice cream they store in that mini fridge.

That and their actual positions on Venezuela (except for platforming Mamdani, but I am directly blaming Will for that one), China, and Russia has always been good. It’s not just a general anti-war stance.

Well, they were always serving someone else’s interests.

Ah, I see that the Israelis also like to to play Squad.

Real superfans don’t read anything else, just write endless (and sometimes better than the og) fanfiction. Harry Potter isn’t special, per se, it is just the first vehicle for them to explore their own creativity, with a large enough community that can share in that larger universe.
It is much the same for Tolkien fans, but Tolkien’s sins are a bit more forgivable, as he was literally helping generate an entire genre.

Messangers on motorbikes to be specific.

And the funniest/saddest part is that Iran, at least the bourgeois has wanted to be a part of this currency, culture, and ideals for years, it is the U.S. that continues to hold them at arms length and beat them, until they actually started fighting back.
The world order requires the creation of pariahs, because market penetration and destruction has to be complete in order to achieve the largest profit margins. However, if everyone competes evenly, the rate of profit will decline and the system will go into collapse.
That is the contradiction at the heart of imperialism, which is the highest stage of capitalism. It requires the creation of frontiers where the profit margins can be kept high through primitive accumulation (see theft), but in order to do that, it must hollow out the imperial core through the MIC, which weakens the empire, which leads to social and cultural collapse as the material culture that created the conditions for empire cannot be replicated.
Therefore, you can never ‘win’, as new frontiers must always be created. Even without the environmental factors, capitalism is a completely unsustainable social order for humanitarian progress, as the cycle is stationary and self-defeating.

Ah, super unfortunate. As much as I tended to disagree with them, that doesn’t mean their commentary wasn’t valued.

Correct, and XHS basically said that without an active financial de-dollarization movement spurred from China, nothing will ever happen, and everything is according to plan from the U.S. perspective. Which I don’t even necessarily disagree with, but the problem was how they thought this could be addressed. China is less likely to act independently if there is a Democrat in office, ergo wanting American leftists to vote for a Democrat makes no sense. Unless it was more about gaining more time to rally the Chinese population around the ejection of neo-liberalism, but that was never the argument.
Their financial stuff was sound, but understanding of the international political dialectic was… questionable. My point is that this view is clearly not true, unless of course we want to make the supposition that the Chinese have somehow forced our hand into open conflict with Iran, and/or our conflict with Iran is going well. Which, remains to be seen either way, but making any of those assumptions requires evidence that I have not seen yet. Who knows, perhaps XHS-thought will be validated, but again, that is because XHS-thought can be summarized as “Without active de-dollarization and an expansion of the internal consumer market within China, nothing will ever happen.” Which, if those don’t happen, and nothing actually happens, remains true!
Fair point! That said XHS was banned before and it never stopped them from posting afterwards unless the ban was actually permanent this time. I can’t be bothered keep track of who all was banned when, for what reason and for how long. Might as well become a mod at that point, and I really cannot do that.

Yeah, the older I get, the more I realize that Marx was right, and the more I realize that there are a lot of motherfuckers out there who don’t actually read Marx, but just vibe Marx, as both Stalin and Mao were much better read on Marxist theory and reading than whatever this guy is talking about.
Fucking monday morning quarterback over here with no actual skin in the game.

Except on their opinion of on the ground leftist politics in the U.S., they were consistently and decisively incorrect on that. For god’s sake, they believed that Biden was a political mastermind.
And they were not doomer, that is a gross misunderstanding of their position. They believed that if you are no in a position to perform revolution, you have to perform electoral mitigation. Basically, you have to vote Dem, to stall in order to prepare for when the Republican gets back in. This is nonsense, leftist organizations in the U.S. grow fundamentally weaker with a center-right presidency. The Democrats are very good at their only real job, which is containing the left. Now we have a chance to actually push an agenda, it just means we have to be careful about it, and avoid the news, which means that people like XHS will not even know it is happening.
I will say again, and say it repeatedly. XHS was only correct in terms of the idea that ‘Nothing ever happens.’ They had several great theories as to why that is, however, we had no actual way of know they were correct, just that the result, nothing happening, was true.
We are now in a period where ‘Something might happen’ and XHS is nowhere to be seen, likely because of work or school imo, but idk. And if something does happen, that will kill most of their theories, especially in terms of how domestic U.S. politics affects foreign policies.

The funny part is that we had all of those in the 50s and 60s. There are towns all over the Midwest that had extensive underground complexes for munitions manufacturing. They just didn’t bother to maintain the infrastructure so most of them were bolted shut or concreted over in the 90’s.
