TikTok aren’t even on the same scale… TikTok is part of the internet. TikTok is a very narrow usage of it. One based entirely on sucking people into addictive vapid content.

TikTok isn’t in any way left leaning. It still seeks to exploit people the same as any other business, they’re just better at it.

They’re supporters of authoritarian dictatorships. Which is distinct from, and frankly incompatible with, the ideals of Communism.

There are definitely those who decided that communism wasn’t what it was, at took the label for themselves to try and fool their constituencies into believing their dictatorships were “for the best”… but they were never ideologically communist.

This has been a joke since before anything resembling the modern “AI” boom. Basically since murderous future AI was a think in popular media, at least since Terminator if not earlier. People would joke about treating their appliances kindly so that “Skynet” won’t kill them in the future.

Yeah, the people on TikTok (or RedNote) aren’t really the ones concerned about big corporations on anything but an aesthetic level.

Being able to bring your console to someone else to play couch co-op with them makes developing that style much more appealing.

It really depends on the union, and the people. They do tend to be blue-collar workers, though, which are often more susceptible to the kind of disinformation and propaganda against the working class they’re a part of.

Blaming technology for our failings is passing the buck because we want to avoid actually dealing with the cause of the problems.

Well, you have a choice in how you deal with it. You could just let it chain you down, or you could develop strategies to deal with it.

That doesn’t mean it’d be easy, or that you can remove it entirely… but it’s better than ignoring it and hoping it goes away.

I found this after a quick-ish google. Looks like occasionally people do, but they mostly get laughed at as the native cultures seemed to find it a sign of respect. And actually felt hurt when a helicopter dropped the naming convention.
