They don’t have to shut it all down but they should absolutely split off all their bloated non-Wikipedia endeavors from the rest of the organization. If they were actually honest to people about where the donations get spent a lot fewer people would donate.

If you poke around there you will see a million line items that can be accurately summarized as “not Wikipedia”. The wikimedia foundation is massively bloated because they have an infinite source of funding. I don’t even think all the projects they are doing are bad or anything, it’s just that they aren’t Wikipedia.

It’s highly unethical the way they solicit for donations and heavily imply that the donations are to run Wikipedia. They aren’t. They are spending all that money on other pet projects and pinkertons to do union busting.

There’s no need. They have enough money to run Wikipedia for many many decades.

They are requesting that you read the dates/times in the text of the pictures you posted. However, that makes no sense for them to ask you to do that, because the pictures you posted contain no dates to read at all…

That reminds me of the time I visited the Michelin museum in France that was about the history of rubber production. But there were literally ZERO mentions of the people who harvested the rubber, and all of the colonialism and slavery it involved. When I asked the docent if I missed a section they seemed genuinely surprised like it was the first time they had ever thought about where rubber comes from.

I was having a conversation with someone here who claimed to be a professor (I believe it) and went on and on about how they are a subject matter expert and that AI detection actually works really well these days. I told him I felt bad for his students and he had a full blown insult laden meltdown at me then deleted everything.

I just feel bad for those students.
