I grew up loving and watching basketball. I can’t afford $80 to stream not even all of the sports.

If it were more plug n play it might take off. I just don’t look forward to when they’ll have ads or start making us pay. It’s so tiring shuffling from platform to platform because of some greedy CEO.

biteychan@beehaw.orgto WomensStuff@lazysoci.al•Wednesday wins... what's going right for you this week?2·5 months agoI look forward to when just like how forearm tattoos have gotten more acceptable, we can have fun hair colors that are vibrant. One day…
biteychan@beehaw.orgto WomensStuff@lazysoci.al•Wednesday wins... what's going right for you this week?2·5 months agoThanks~ Best believe though, in October we’re going back over it so that way it’s obvious that it’s burgundy in all lighting, not just when my hair hits the sun. To me, burgundy is still in the red family, but isn’t too “out there” of a color (I desperately wish we could just let adults have vibrant hair without fear of being judged).
biteychan@beehaw.orgto WomensStuff@lazysoci.al•Wednesday wins... what's going right for you this week?9·5 months agoI got compliments on my hair and it made me feel nice. I wanted my hair to be an “employable burgundy” (as much as in my soul, I deeply wanted as bright of a red as possible), but it came out a little too subtle. Thankfully, when the light is nice, it looks great and I love getting complements.
biteychan@beehaw.orgto WomensStuff@lazysoci.al•You get to pick one pair, what do you choose and why?6·5 months agoI would take the bottom right because if there’s one aggressively millennial thing about me, it’s skinny jeans. And you’ll pry them from my cold, dead hands. They’re good all year round, you never have to worry about folding the bottom into winter boots, and they don’t drag on the ground when it’s winter or rainy outside. Skinny jeans forever!

So even if you didn’t chemically treat your hair, you were still exposed to bad chemicals by other means. Makes me so glad I have microlocs!
biteychan@beehaw.orgto WomensStuff@lazysoci.al•Which of these boots would you pick and why?4·6 months agoI’d pick top left because I do a lot of walking and also because the boots look durable. While I don’t mind heeled boots, I would only wear them to dinner or some other event that calls for dressing a bit nicer and I don’t do that often enough. The bottom left is just “eh” so I wouldn’t pick it.
biteychan@beehaw.orgto WomensStuff@lazysoci.al•Weekly chatter thread week of 24th March3·6 months agoI’m getting the bottom half of my hair dyed burgundy. I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve gotten my hair professionally done and I’m excited. I love the color red and I’m excited to do something just because I want to.
I do feel much better after taking a nap in the afternoon, but until I got rest, it was a very bad feeling. Just 4 more weeks left and I’m free!
biteychan@beehaw.orgto WomensStuff@lazysoci.al•Weekly chatter thread week of 24th March4·6 months agoI have 4 weeks left of college and am a shell of myself. On my second cup of coffee today and I still have several chapters to get through, 3 discussion posts and two papers that I’d like to get done by Saturday (Friday is the best case scenario) so I can rest on Sunday.
But on the plus side, I get my hair done Wednesday!!! I’m holding out until then

This color:
And I want it to flow like this:
biteychan@beehaw.orgto WomensStuff@lazysoci.al•Weekly casual chit chat 17th till 24th MarchEnglish8·6 months agoI have 5 more weeks until I’m finally done with my college degree, but I don’t wanna do work. Like no, I don’t wanna read about copyright law in my communication law and ethics course, I wanna walk around outside in the beautiful spring weather (ofc I’m gonna do it because I literally have my cap and gown and it would be embarrassing to fail this late in the game).
Also I get my hair done next week: dying my hair an ombre burgundy! Be prepared for a hair post when it happens. I’ve always wanted to dye my hair a fun color.
I look to the fabric make up. When I worked corporate, Banana Republic and Express had a lot of clothes that suited me, but I ended up working remote and am now a full time student, so clothes is about balancing comfort, ease and quality. I used ThredUp to thrift an oversized (for me) Gap Denim jacket that was 95% cotton, and I pair that with the T-shirts I’ve accumulated over the years and either my fleece lined Athleta leggings for the winter or PopFit leggings for warmer months.

(I’m wearing my plain wedding band as sometimes my eczema acts up)
So yeah I keep my left hand nubbin’ short and my right hand is just claws. I actually can’t fingerpick very well when my right hand does get short, but I admit my playing sounds better when it’s skin on contact with strings. But to me, nails are like arms, how do you live without them?
RE: What music I play, I wish I had a style! I consider myself reasonably eclectic, but I haven’t nailed my style down to a genre. I may like alternative rock like My Chemical Romance, Breaking Benjamin, and Avenged Sevenfold, but that doesn’t mean I like (…or am good at) attempting to play it!
When I started guitar three years ago, the goal was to be a finger style guitarist, but I found I had a lot more fun going to my family’s house for the holidays or friend’s houses and just doing mini karaoke, so it’s really me just strumming and playing (that’s not much of a style, though T_T). I think that because I like strumming and light fingerstyle, I was gonna try to develop a folk style, but then I ran out of time as I’m trying to finally get my degree. Will report if I finally figure out the answer to the question “what music do you play?”.
I’m 58% through the third book and it feels like it should’ve ended at book two so far for me.
