  • The only subreddit I still check is /r/cfb because it’s by far the best college football specific part of the internet and my Fanactus account seems to have been deleted. I’m not disclosing what my old account was but I was a upper mid level account there for about 7 years, not bragging just framing, it has gotten really fucking shilly in comparison to even last year although itd been happening for a while. It crescendoed with the release of the new college football madden analog, which does make logical sense for why, but there was some hard corporate dick riding. I don’t care for sports video games that don’t involve Mario or have the word Jam in the title so I don’t know if the game is any good but it was obviously paid

The only entertainment thing I would want AI doing are feature length high quality crossovers like this, I already have TNG characters cast in my head, Picard as Arthur, Riker as Lancelot, Data as Galahad, Q as the Frenchman, Jordy as Bedevere, Wesley as Robin, Worf as the Black Knight, O’Brien is the animator, Crusher is Zoot, Troi Tasha Guinan as the three headed creture, Spock as Tim the Enchanter, Kirk as the old man. I need to watch the other shows clearly, missing the Knights who say Ni/IckyIckyIckyCapang, the father and son in the castle, Concord, Patsy etc

  • I don’t disagree with him on the point that the old model has been broken but I think it’s more complex. I think it was Matt Damon that said steaming has hurt the creative side of the industry because dvd sales can’t make the budget back for risky project anymore. That’s not the full issue either though. Theater experience has been going down and there’s a billion other ways to get entertainment in a social way now. This all leads to studios desperate to keep the spice flowing to only back what they believe are sure returns on investment while simultaneously trying to cut costs by reducing or at least limiting the compensation to creatives. There aren’t as many risks getting taken and producers are reclaiming the power that had long been surrendered to directors and writers.

We’re almost back to the old studio system, if we ain’t already there
