Not really. You can utilise a Mastodon client that allows you to subscribe to remote instances. Another option is to utilise a relay and subscribe to an instance

It’s funny to see people worried about Threads making breaking changes yet Mastodon has done it from the beginning. Look at recently with the quote post situation, Misskey has had them forever, Threads used Misskey implementation and an FEP, Mastodon announced yesterday they got a grant for quote posts. They are doing their own thing yet again

Why is it a nuisance for some? They could defederate from Mastodon.social and Mastodon.online. This place is supposed to be about freedom & choice. People can use different software, move to a different instance so I’m confused at the hostility toward Eugen.

It means that many servers have shutdown due to costs. That there will be more users due to Twitters incompetence a due to platforms adopting ActivityPub down the line. This will have significant strain on resources, remaining with only a donation option is dangerous

I see people here attempting to equate it with a natural attraction and or a fetish. We all have internet access and can look it up. It is in the DSM-5 and ICD-10 both pedophilia and pedophilic disorder. Especially, in this more advanced age of medicine, science and society. If it was natural I believe the corrections would’ve been made and or strongly advocated for, it’s not. What is advocated is using terminology correctly, encouraging those that experience this to feel comfortable to tell their truth and seek help.
