LETSSS GOOO!English231·1 month agoIf you are here and want lemmy to succeed, please consider donating. The devs used to get by mostly on nlnet foundation grants but are trying to shift to a more sustainable donation based model. You can see how they are doing on the join-lemmy website when you scroll down to the bottom, there are also links to their liberapay (preferred option) paetreon, etc.
Windows 95 -> 98 -> XP -> 7 -> 8 -> OSX -> Arch (1 month) -> Gentoo (1 year) -> VOID (3 years) -> NixOS (4 years) (transitioning to Guix System now)
For reference, this was my editor hopping journey which started during my OSX days since I learned to program during this time: Sublimetext -> vim -> neovim -> emacs
That’s not what the science says btw. If you go to Russia and ask old people about how they feel about the USSR, they are significantly more likely to have favourable views of the USSR than young people who didn’t experience it. If you are interested, you can also look at Generational and Geographic Effects on Collective Memory of the USSR.
