Ooof. I hope that’s a stain and not heat discoloration, otherwise that’s not a sword, but a sword-shaped wall decoration.

I keep hearing about how bad lemmy.ml is, but I just don’t get it. They’ve got a pretty ok linux community, and the political discussions from what I’ve seen tend to be mostly civil even if I don’t agree with some of their opinions. Apparently there’s ongoing drama about an overly banhappy moderator (which they’re allegedly dealing with), but that happens sometimes even in good communities.
The way that lemmy.ml is talked about, I expect a level of insanity comparable to /r/conservative on reddit, so what am I missing?
yeah, because the only way that brown people could have built anything impressive is if gods/aliens helped them.
Notice how these people never call into question the coliseum or the parthenon? It’s just thinly veiled racism.
Electric cars is not the solution. Sure, it’s an improvement, but for a real solution you need to get people out of personal vehicles on onto public transportation. Trains, trams, busses, whatever. Build it in a way that doesn’t suck. Assuming american, the US had (past tense) amazing train/tram networks decades ago. Every warehouse had a rail spur, and since walking was considered ok people weren’t obese fatasses.
I drive a scooter. It is possible to live without a car, although it does have some difficulties sometimes. If your job is within 10 miles of your home or less, then you don’t need a car for your commute. If I can do it so can you. I’d still rather take a bus, if it existed.
yeah, but it’s funny tho
that’s some grade-AAAA marketing right there. If I was in the market, I’d buy one.
I did not read the article. However, the headline really makes it sound like I’m supposed to think that paying for sex is a bad thing. Don’t get me wrong, Matt Geetz is a fucker and should probably be in prison, but we live in current year. It should absolutely be ok to hire someone to get your rocks off.
fifteen years ago, I was made fun of for asking how the xmen movies related to the mcu movies. LOOK WHOS FUCKIN RIGHT NOW BITCHES.
What really got my panties in a bunch was when the next bus after that flew by without stopping (an hour after the previous bus).
I’m so glad I don’t ride the bus anymore.
THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING IN MY BRAIN! I JUST GOT HERE!
my dude, your comment just opened my eyes to a possibility that I had not considered previously. Seriously wish I did drugs right now so I could smoke a bowl and stew on it for a couple hours.
is my “I dont’ wanna” because I’m actually terrified? it makes so much sense.
I kinda hate it.
What’s really fun is when I’m at the stop (and had been for the past hour) and watch the bus go by without so much as slowing down. Then I have to call my job and explain that the bus skipped me.
that actor would have made a great joker.
why don’t people use krita? Gimp may be the most famous photoshop alternative, but I almost never hear anyone talk about others that may potentially be better.
and become facebook? I’d rather not.
I’m an idiot making a thing, and I need to pick a license. Where’s a good place to talk to people more knowledgeable than myself on the subject?
EDIT: so my thing isn’t software, i probably should have mentioned that. I am making a ruleset and setting for something similar to but not exactly a tabletop rpg. The ORC license sounds promising, but the legalese makes my brain gray out. ChatGPT tells me to use a version of the Creative Commons license, but ChatGPT isn’t exactly reliable.
i can easily agree with 90% of that. The remaining 10% needs asterisks pointing towards further nuanced discussion. I’ll not specify which topics go into which category.
Even if the different gear were sidegrades to each other, that would still be better. Keep the main ones that you craft yourself as is, but then have findable versions that you can’t craft that have the same or similar stats but very different aesthetics (and possibly enchant bias). That would already make exploration more worthwhile. Armor trims are a step in the right direction, but making the schematics fragile is just a slap in the face. Actually, gear fragility really shouldn’t exist at all, but that conversation can happen another day.
Completely unrelated to my other comment, and more related to the actual post, I think looking at Factorio’s upcoming world generation changes may be a source of inspiration on how to do this better. Mojang won’t ever do it because it would take actual work for something most people won’t notice, so it’s up to the modding community.
Factorio may be a 2d game, but its world generation is done in 3d and then flattened.
Look at Factorio Friday Facts number 401 and scroll waaaaaaaaaaay down to the section on Natural Paths.
solved for quite some time. it gets mixed with concrete and stuck in a bigger concrete container called a “dry cask”.
Link, because I believe in “outsourcing critical thinking”.
