  • Well, Jill Stein very plainly did fund raising after losing to do an election recount, and said donors could decide how excess funds were spent, but then took those millions and ran without doing any of that.

Instead she spent it on her own legal representation and pursuing legal challenges in multiple states that one judge called “daft,” “ill-considered,” and "pointless.”

“Dr. Stein publicly announced that she seeks to promote election integrity,” the judge continued. But really, he argued, “she seeks to promote only herself,” adding that there was one other benefit from her litigation “that would not otherwise have been conferred: the payment of $150,000 to Stein’s lawyers.”

And then she pulled the plug on the website that was supposed to provide updates on how funds were being used.

So if you expect Dems to vote for her under the dubious notion that she’s somehow a better choice and more ethical or whatever, you need a reality check, because she’s just another grifter and all she accomplishes is dividing the vote against Republicans.

  • also, reddthat was mentioned, but another downvote disabled instance I know of is lemmy.one. There’s also beehaw.org, but they keep considering total defederation or moving to something other than lemmy, so maybe not the best choice at the moment.

Only bringing it up because I think all three do not have open registration now, only signups by approval, so nothing is guaranteed. Though you probably have a good chance on reddthat with why you’re moving over.

There are some other instances as well, and if you look about hard enough there’s a github (?) page that has a table with all the instances and their policies, including a column for whether downvotes are enabled.
