I’m enjoying Kidneythieves, so thanks for the recommendation!
Always looking for new music.
He/they pronouns.
I’m enjoying Kidneythieves, so thanks for the recommendation!
I want to be 2 or 3, but really I’m 7 or 12.
Thanks! I’m already familiar with HTDA but I haven’t listened to any Kidneythieves yet so I’ll check that out.
That looks amazing! He should be proud.
I’ve been using Ardour for quite a long time now.
You know, I love those albums where they fucked around did things like hard-pan all the drums to the right channel. I’m here for the experimentation.
Yeah when it’s explained to me I realise “of course, that makes so much sense”.
And then I forget again, so I’m all Keanu-Reeves-whoa-face next time I think about it.
I’d watch that movie!
Your comment spawned a delightful train of thought where I imagined all the other fish trying, and failing, to successfully fuck before these two fish stumbled on how to do it.
It helps me to remember that mitochondrial Eve isn’t a fixed individual, as well.
Mitochondrial Eve is just the most recent common female ancestor. So her mom would also be a common female ancestor, but not the most recent one.
To be fair, the concept of mitochondrial Eve still trips me out.
That’s a nice haul!
Ooh thanks for posting this! I have Inlet but hadn’t listened to this release before. Loving it.
👍🏻
There are a lot of reasons, but I think this article does a good job of listing the main criticisms: https://www.themarysue.com/the-autism-speaks-controversy-explained/
But in a nutshell:
Oh yes, what a great album!
I’ve always thought “separate the art from the artist” should be a conversation, not a hard and fast rule. I’ve never heard White Freckles so I don’t really have an opinion on this. But if the track is meaningful and brings beauty to people’s lives, that’s valid despite the artist being a piece of shit.
There are some artists where I feel the artist’s behaviour does not outweigh the impact of their work on my life, for example Eric Clapton, but there are other artists where I feel their work stands up despite the artist’s actions (Prince, David Bowie).
Oooh I haven’t listened to Lead Into Gold in a while and you’re right, it’s pretty close to what I’m looking for. Thanks for the reminder!
