Well there you have it: Finland - no better than Florida!
Narri N.
I have a trauma-based personality disorder, which sometimes manifests itself in episodes of often uncontrollable bouts of verbal violence. I prefer to direct this to people on the internet (as opposed to actual people), as I don’t wish to be violent towards people I actually care about.

Narri N.@lemmy.mlto World News@lemmy.world•Finnish president boosts ties with Trump in surprise Florida visitEnglish101·15 days agoOh there’s that lizard-looking fucking cunt that we have for a president, sucking the emperor’s toes I see. I wonder if they’re orange and taste of cheetos, and whether Alexander “I would allow NATO nukes on Finnish soil” Stub here would enjoy the taste more or less if they did. Holy fucking shit this country is really going to the shitter fast when “our” president is out in fucking Florida ganging up on old big D’s shriveled up cock with the rest of them, while our prime minister isn’t doing really fucking anything except agreeing whateverthefuck the removed-faced removed that is our financial minister - and incidentally the leader of our own far-right party - says. Which so far has amounted to basically doing what the US has done thus far, and pretending like it’ll fix fucking anything for the working class instead of more money in the rulers’ pockets. Fucking god fucking damn it all to hell, I wish I’d see these people burning to death on the street in agony so I could actually not even fucking piss on them to ease their suffering. You are literally ruining everything for everyone else. And eventually it’ll come to you too, cause there ain’t no planet B. You will die of your own works, just like the rest of us. I wish it’ll be fucking worth it, you miserable excuses for fatherless maggots. I hate you.
Fair enough. I’m mostly arguing with a strawman here, composed of all the content online about how supposedly great this place is, the most egregious being those fucking happiness indexes or whatever. By what I can tell by living here all my life is that the state sucks (as in nothing fucking works like it’s supposed to), the location sucks (cold and/or dark most of the time), and all the people are drunks, depressed and thus hypermedicated, drug addicts, or inbred, xenophobic, racist homophobes. Or depending on how far from the nearest train station you stray a combination of all!
Welcome to Finland, I hate it here.
Nah, because if you’re silent the wrong way (and no one will ever tell you what that way is or how to be silent correctly) you’ll be ostracized since pre-school and end up socially withdraw whether you want it or not. Or at least that is my experience growing up here as an autist, as well as every other autistic person I know.
Stop romanticizing this place and its laughable excuse for a culture. Most people hate it here, and would much rather live somewhere else were it not for the fact that everywhere else seems to be even fucking worse.
Narri N.@lemmy.mlto linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Anyway, here are terminal commands you don't understand.English2·20 days agoPreach. I don’t regret the whole “diving into Arch” part, but I feel like I spent a lot of hours doing things that were pointless, nonsensical even. But then again I’ve spent most of these years since I started this journey struggling with and rehabilitating from various mental health problems (correlation=causation???) so I haven’t had much anything better to do than pointless and nonsensical things, on and off the computer.
Just make sure you’re not fiddling with partitions and boot loaders during work hours…
Ain’t that the truth. Just recently I had invited my friend over for a coffee and such, and when he came I noticed my computer wouldn’t want to boot because I had fiddled with something too critical. Sorted it out eventually, but I feel like it kinda crumbled the foundation of my whole “Linux is superior to Windows in every way” line of thinking I have been trying to bring to life among my friends…
Narri N.@lemmy.mlto linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Anyway, here are terminal commands you don't understand.English3·20 days agoIndeed, well explained. Though I think I should mention that I’ve been using Linux in general for some 12-13 years, since from somewhere around Ubuntu 12.04 to 13.10. I did make the error of overestimating my own skills and abilities regarding “figuring it out” when I dove headfirst into Arch, so basically I was a self-proclaimed massive nerd, but I didn’t even realize how inflated my own ego was. I don’t think the archinstall script/library even existed back then, and I also had no clue about the man-pages, or how anything really worked.
So my comment here was more along the lines of embellished musings on my own past experiences trying to learn things while I was doing them. Through these experiences what I have learned though is that the Arch Wiki is an invaluable source for most Linux users.
Narri N.@lemmy.mlto linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Anyway, here are terminal commands you don't understand.English173·20 days ago“Anyway, here are terminal commands you don’t understand.” and after asking for clarification on said terminal commands, you are quite rudely told to read The Manual - which seems to be some kind of a holy book for these bizarre creatures - without explaining in any way whatsoever which part of which manual you should be “reading”. Thankfully, only every command ever created by anyone since the very conception of these systems - which was some 50 years ago in the seventies, in a university of a country you don’t live in, written in a language you don’t possibly even understand all that well, possibly by someone who also didn’t know the language all that well - is discussed at length and in an impenetrably obtuse manner by many different parts of many different manuals, with helpful references to other commands and concepts you also don’t understand, but which are all varying levels of essential knowledge for understanding some of these commands, while different levels for others. Also if you do not grasp the essential knowledge, you might completely fuck up your system. It seems that the philosophy in playing Dwarf Fortress is found in trying to use certain types of Linux distros, mostly frequented by massive nerds with hugely inflated egos: losing is fun! Because why else would I still be using Arch (btw)? But in any case: Read the Fucking Manual (rtfm to you as well, brother)
Narri N.@lemmy.mlto News@lemmy.world•Europe will need thousands more tanks and troops to mount a credible military defence without the USEnglish22·23 days agoYeah, this fearmongering is exactly the reason I don’t really follow any mainstream media outlets, and absolutely none from my country of residence. It’s always the same. Also yeah, lemmy.world is quite a bit too right-leaning for my tastes, so I rarely frequent it. For me it’s closing on the feeling I get when I visit reddit: disgust. Like stepping into a steaming pile of pig shit. And don’t get me wrong, I ain’t saying everyone should just roll over and die when the tanks come a-rolling, were they Russian or American.
What I’m saying is that the rich should be eaten or else killed with no due process, their capital seized with no recompence, every politican killed and burned in a great big pile, all means of production seized by the workers, and a new world order put up by the workers which should adhere to communistic and marxist-leninist principles.
And uh, the first “we” was in reference to all European nations putting money that could and should be used for literally anything else into militaries. The second was in reference to the EU as I live in a country in said union.
Narri N.@lemmy.mlto News@lemmy.world•Europe will need thousands more tanks and troops to mount a credible military defence without the USEnglish12·23 days agoWell, we do have something of a global presence still. And also money and manpower, that any good capitalist pig like Putin realizes he must have. I’m just disgusted by this fucking fearmongering. The best thing you can do as an insignificant worker for the lords with all the money is to start fearing whatever it is that you are told to fear, and remain in that fear forever. That keeps you obedient. And when the population on both sides are fearful enough the lords with all the money will agree to a war, so that the cycle of war and fear and exploitation of the working class will continue again, and the command over the lives of the working class will never be in the hands of the working class people. And the lords with all the money will remain to be the lords with all the money. And nothing will ever change.

Narri N.@lemmy.mlto News@lemmy.world•Europe will need thousands more tanks and troops to mount a credible military defence without the USEnglish38·23 days agoOh no! The russians are coming! Oh no! And this time it’s fo real, I swear bro they’re actually coming this time bro trust me, I’m telling you bro they’re coming for real and we gotta put all of our money in the militaries bro, I swear bro remain scared bro, the russians are coming bro
Yeah, same here with DF. I love the fact that the premium exists and that they are as successful as they are on Steam, the only problem for me is that I’m too poor to buy it :D but I’ve tried it via alternative means now that adventure mode was released, something I’ve never even tried in the past. The whole experience was pretty much “I have no idea what I’m doing. 10/10 I love it.”
This is what enables me to gaslight myself into thinking I must not be a proper neurodivergent, as I do not spend all my days playing (insert whateverthefuck it is today that is considered the most autistic), while simultaneously believing that Dwarf Fortress is and will probably forever be the best game ever made, and shaming myself for not being immediately capable of playing something like Aurora 4X without going through any tutorials.
spoiler
It’s kinda sad, actually, how society has gaslighted me into thinking that because I was born at the time and the place I was, and because of the culture and socioeconomical ladder that my parents inhabited at the time, and because I was assigned to the gender that I was; and because of the certain traits I showed growing up - while at the same time completely disregarding every other trait - that there are only certain stereotypes that I feel I must fit into, even within neurodivergence, and if I don’t fill those roles I myself will feel like a failure. I think most problems (labeled with varying diagnoses in the ICD-10, including but not limited to: paranoid schizophrenia, psychotic depression, borderline personality disorder, social anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, etc.) that have arisen in my life are because of these things that society has imposed on me, without ever even asking for my own preference and never taking me seriously when I tell of them. Psychiatry is a fucking joke like that, because no-one in that so-called “field of science” took me seriously regarding neurodivergence until like maybe two or three years ago, once my sister was diagnosed with ADHD. Instead they claimed that “it would have been noticed by now”. Yeah you should know, you absolute fucking quack, you goddam charlatan. Keep selling me your fucking snake-oils that do fuck all, except make me unable to get an erection or cum, and only fuck my brain up with electric-feeling zaps if I miss a dose. You fucking fuckwit.
thankfully none of that matters haha lol let’s go gaymerzzzzz

Narri N.@lemmy.mlto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Does your country have a discount Donald Trump politician? How do they compare?English2·1 month agoWell our current president, who looks like a reptilian zombie with a human skin oddly draped over him, campaigned with the thought of “allowing NATO nuclear weapons on our soil”, and if it weren’t for the fact that he has been, was, is, and will forever be a capitalist right-wing populist of the worst kind, that might’ve been the final straw for not voting for him.
Others still “serving” our great nation include the speaker of the parliament, who is a straight up far-righter; a racist and a fascist. He used to be the leader of our far-right party, but after failing in the presidential elections he switched to his current position. Then there’s the leader of the far-right party, who serves as our minister of finance. She also seems like a horrible human being who deserves to get from a bullet, as she is responsible for the cuts in aid all the poor, the sick, the children, the young, the students and the immigrants, most of all who are not-as-wealthy-as-her here have faced after the last government took power.
And then there’s of course our prime minister, who is nothing but a puppet of the far-right, though he represents the same party as the president had, the right populists. An insidious kind of a fucking mitten who should die with the rest of them.
Narri N.@lemmy.mlto Progressive Politics@lemmy.world•Progressive SHREDS 20 MAGA Voters and It GOES OFF THE RAILSEnglish3·1 month agoTalking of the clips here: oh my sweet baby jesus, these people are so obnoxious. But obviously arguing with brainwashed idiots such as the average right-winger with the capability to vote (in any country, mind you; I was physically attacked just some years ago, before our last presidential election, by an absolute zealot of a right-wing idiot for daring to announce my distaste for his idiotic reasons to vote against my clearly superior left-wing candidate; and my country has been FOR YEARS the most bird-nest bird-nest that ever bird-nested between two opposing superpowers) is so akin to playing chess with a pigeon that you basically shouldn’t do it for the sake of your own sanity. And by looking at the age of some of these fuckwits, I’d say gen Z is already doomed.
So instead of trying to convince the unconvinceable that their way of “thinking” is wrong (which it is, obviously, but maybe they can be converted later on or something?) and thus losing all your steam for the change, because you can’t do it; not alone, at least, and never publicly, because like ants they find strength in numbers (and also carry a strange unwavering loyalty for their regent, like ants again). They need like therapy and interventions to get them rid of their own personal delusions and mental gymnastics regarding their own personal brand of cognitive dissonance on why they choose to support regimes that only do harm.
But what every local communist and anarchist etc. should do is aim younger. Gen A can still be redeemed, and in the hands of the youth lies the future. We must plant trees in shades of which we may never come to rest, but if our children or their children may live in peace beneath those branches I’d say that is enough and good.

Same here! A close friend who is going through the breakup and aftermath of an extremely toxic relationship actually validated my efforts by saying something along the lines of “There are a few people in my life who have kept me alive. I think you are one of them.” which is a heart-warmingly typical way of saying “thank you” for him. All I have done is talk to people in the way I wished others would have known how to talk to me when I was at rock bottom (or indeed after someone threw me a shovel while there). Of course I’m not blaming any of my friends for not knowing how to do such, as - and forgive me if I sound presumptuous - not that many people in general may have gone through what I have, and probably even fewer around here. Or then it’s the local style of not communicating or really even knowing how to show empathy in situations like these.
Narri N.@lemmy.mlto Health - Resources and discussion for everything health-related@lemmy.world•Mental health crisis ‘means youth is no longer one of happiest times of life’English2·1 month agoThank you, you are a beautiful person by what I can tell. And yes, these are skills that I have had to learn the hard way, and I have worked hard to learn them. I am also working part-time as a bartender nowadays, which is something I thought to be completely impossible for me - in addition to having a stable relationship and cutting off toxic people and relationships - not more than 5 years ago. So things are and have been looking up for a while now. And no I don’t mind you saying at all, and in fact if you ever have anything that you think I might be able to help you with, please don’t hesitate reaching out.
“All of this is politics! You know, the thing that ruined America! But we’re making America great again, by removing politics altogether and just staying in power forever! Hail
HitlerTrump!”Yeah, it’s just Felon telling his puppets that those opposing him are puppets and thus stupid, unlike his who are big, strong and beautiful people and who will definately not lose all their money because of his economics, which is a different thing to politics because capitalism is the only one that just works, and no you shouldn’t think about that too hard.
