I once had a party that kept trying to buy the local tavern, so I finally relented and gave them a majority ownership in the establishment. I then revealed that it was cash negative, and heavily in debt, and that the owner only did that so he could pass the debt on to them, which took all their money. It also gave them a reason to take on jobs that they thought were “below them”.

I’m glad I get a little bit of schadenfreude from the Bitcoin drop… In the hell that is my life State farm declared my car totaled and they are giving the money for the settlement to my bankruptcy court behind my back. I engaged a lawyer to try to stop it but it could be weeks before I see any cash from the settlement and I’m going to have to pay for a rental car out of pocket. This is all because their client hit me and did more damage than State farm deemed my car was worth. So they got to take it and now they’re going to sell it and make a profit off of it I love it

Yeah, I am waiting to hear back from my bankruptcy lawyer, I don’t even want to mention that there might be a cheek to the trustee yet until I get that settled. It’s jsut a massive headache, because state farm is straight up lying to me, and, if I were not hounding them, I would be under the impression my car was being repaired (it’s what their website says).

Vent post: last week, a big ass truck plowed into my car in the snow. The truck was fine, but totally fucked up the side of my car. The dude was nice enough, admitted fault, and we exchanged info (I opted to NOT call the police, because, fuck that).

Now his insurance has admitted fault, got me a rental, yadda yadda but they claim that the cost of the damage (13k) is more than the value of the car. Similar vehicles to mine are selling for $20,000…but they are trying to give me a check for <$8,000. I told them I am in a chapter 13 bankruptcy, and giving me a check would be the same as giving it to the court…I told them this is the ONE thing I own, I jsut want it fixed, and they just keep brushing me off like I am nothing. This is so infuriating. My friends are telling me to get a personal injury lawyer and try to get more money. I don’t want more money, I just want my fucking car back. Now State Farm is offering $4k and I can have the car as is with a salvage title. This country fucking sucks so god damn much.
