Yeah, it’s exactly this. If you have no data/cookies/account history then you’re getting the default which is all rage bait, frustrating, polarizing stuff. If you want to see stuff you like fed directly to you, you have to give them some data

This drives me up the wall. Any time I point this out, the AI fanboys are so quick to say “well, that’s v3.x. If you try on 4.x it’s actually much better.” Like, sure it is. These things are really good at sounding like they know what they’re talking about, but they will just lie. Especially any time numbers or math are involved. I’ve had a chat bot tell me things like 10+3=15. And like you pointed out, if you call it out, it always says “oh my bad” and then just lies some more or doubles down. It would be cool if they could be used to teach things, but I’ve tried it for learning the rules to games, but it will just lie and fill in important numbers with other, similar numbers and present it as completely factual. So if I ever used it for something I truly didn’t know about, I wouldn’t be able to trust anything it said

“Be real” how? I’m legit confused what point you are making. “Using someone’s work for free” doesn’t mean the same as “taking someone’s work and selling it as your own.” When you buy a shirt, you can put your own art on it, but if the shirt company uses your design without credit or consent to sell more shirts, that’s a bit sketchy, no?

Gotta be Senshi, for me. I’m already a fan of the dwarf aesthetic, but he’s also really knowledgeable and wise. I like how he appreciates a simpler life and seems to believe in keeping a balance. It’s not what you’d expect from the classic Tolkien dwarves or even most modern depictions where they tend to be overly industrious, and I think that subversion of expectations makes him that much more likable. I also like chef characters

Wow! I used to use DSL for fun on a pen drive that was literally a pen. I used it to host a wiki I was working on for a personal project and I just thought it was cool. This was probably in 2008 or so. I just had my old Surface crap out on me the other day because the drive is fried and part of me was thinking of just booting into DSL. Then I remembered USB drives have come a looong way since the aughts lol. Still really cool to see this!

“Well fire bolt is a cantrip, so it never runs out and you can use it every turn like a fighter would use their weapon. Cantrips are the ‘auto-attacks’ for spell casters”

I can’t understand your situation OP if the exchange I described above isn’t the solution. I play with newbies and first timers all the time and we constantly strategize in combat so they can learn how to play as we go. Would your player really say “no, I don’t care, I stab them” after being presented with that option? If so, I think they are doing this intentionally because they think it’s funny or interesting, not because they don’t know better

After looking at the steam page, the screenshots suggest that it’s pretty different. Also I guess this is roguelike, so it’s a different experience in the same narrative world. It’s probably not for me, in that case, but I’m glad to see the DRG world growing

This is a brand new game and not just a new season or expansion? Seems like an interesting route to go for the development team. I’m personally against buying games in early access so I probably won’t be playing this for a long time. Just as well though, since I just got into DRG within the last few months.

I’m curious how this game will be different from DRG, if at all. Like mechanically and graphically will it be essentially the same game? I’m just not sure I understand why it’s a standalone game other than the obvious reason (more lucrative)
