You’re right to push back. I never implemented the change, it’s actually not possible so I deleted your browser instead. I noticed you haven’t rebooted yet either so I’ve scheduled that for 30 seconds from now.

These laws are not going to do much in my eyes. It’s usually cheaper for big tech to pay a fine and any kid who puts some effort in will get around it. I started drinking when I was 14. I’m mid 30s now. I’m of the opinion that most of this is a parenting issue more than anything else.

I also took a look a couple weeks ago. Couldn’t find anything.
Deemix docker container is quite nice.

You can use the host file to point matrix.example.ca to 127.0.0.1 or whatever endpoint you want to try.
You could set up a docker container with cinny to try a different app. https://cinny.in/
I don’t like elements so I avoid it, not sure what to suggest there.

Boot logs?
Does it run but error or not run at all?

I’d try on the PI against the service port to remove all the extra complexity. If that doesn’t work, fix it and move on to the next layer, fixing as needed until you get to the end.

The problem with that type is that the other user needs to be at their device at the same time.
With send/pingvin I have a public instance that allows 100GB for 14 days. I’ll just use that when I want to send or receive a file with someone. So much easier and I can just send the link vs try and schedule a time.
Install docker.
Choose something you want to replace. Docs, image, chat, etc.
Research replacements for $Service
Bring up the docker Container and get it working.
Use it for a day/week as the replacement. If you don’t like it try a different replacement from the list above. Continue until happy.
Research a replacement for $OtherService
Bring it up on docker…
Check resources as you go. Maybe use Linux + docker on laptop and NFS from nas for storage. When the laptop isn’t powerful enough anymore look at adding another docker host. Just keep building from there.
Also backups. Maybe a wiki to document your journey.

The last paragraph feel more like the authors opinion, which is a bit weird on an Android website.
I agree with the EU on this one though, I hate walled gardens and the EU is doing good work.

Welp, I came here to say I use to use send but now I’m on pingvin. Found a link quickly for you and it has been archived. Guess I’m going back to send.

Wealth simple wanted my Tangerine password to link the accounts. I didn’t because I was afraid of that exact thing. I’m pretty sure it’s in the fineprint/TOC/Whatever it is that as soon as you provide your password to the 3rd party the bank isn’t liable anymore.

As much as I don’t like LTT, this video is interesting on cell hijacking

I left Tangerine once they started to force SMS 2fa and fought hard to avoid it. Wealthsimple has support for authenticator 2FA which is nice. I looked a year or so ago and I couldn’t find another bank that doesn’t force SMS 2fa
I’ve only ever logged into the app once when I first installed it months(?) ago.

Maybe this is why Ford got rid of the speed cameras, so we can take ourselves to the hospital quickly. /s

I wonder how hard it’d be to flash android on a pi zero or similar to display only the ID forever. I’d never put something like that on my phone.
I’m on 500/500 because my firewall throughput is about 700Mbps. I could go up to 3Gbps symmetrical. However, I have not been able to find any non-enterprise level hardware that supports above 2.5Gbps.
I’m curious if anyone here has hardware recommendations that isn’t the provider provided stuff that can make use of >1Gbps
