It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness.
In the last 25 years I’ve hit rock bottom and also experienced the happiest moments of my life. Can’t sum it up any better than Dickens.
Yeah that’s the thing, don’t want to spin up a 500w gaming pc just to watch stuff on plex

The article author seems to write this off as just another run of the mill sci-fi rpg, but I’m pretty excited for this. Peter F Hamilton is one of my favourite authors and he’s done the world building to support the narrative of the game.
Going to be reading his tie-in novel over the xmas break and it seems to have got decent reader reviews so long as you like his style of writing.
Cheers, yeah I thought about crossposting to c/privacy. I also should have searched first as it seems like it’s pretty common thing to do for networked devices of all sorts.
I’ll give it a go myself and do a write up for novices like myself if I succeed.
I’ve got a 42” LG C3 as my gaming monitor. It’s connected to my network so that I can stream content from my plex server. Anybody know if there’s a way I can cut the TV’s access to the internet, to avoid updates etc., while still maintaining access to the home network?

Thank you, I wasn’t aware of their deep Russian ties and now won’t be buying it. I’ll edit my post to reflect that.

That second sentence is a bald faced lie. I lost grub thanks to a failed update and then 2 days of my life trying to repair it.

The Xmax v3 Pro is a solid budget option. In NZ it’s 1/4 to 1/5 the price of a Mighty. You don’t have to use one of the Medic range if that’s what you’ve been told.
Not as good, but decent enough, is Shadowplay. It’s set in the immediate aftermath of WW2 and has a US detective trying to upskill a Berlin police unit and find his psychotic brother.
I’m in this comic and don’t like it.

You could put it up on ResearchGate first to get eyes across it and potentially get an endorsement. Then reach out to the endorser to get sponsored for arXiv.
The other option is to submit it for peer review. You’d need to to look up the best pathway based on your field.

“Property is theft” curtesy of Pierre-Joseph Proudhon.
Older (i.e. 2000s and early 2010s) hypnotic techno. I do 30 mins of deep breathing exercises 3 times a day, while listening to it, to try and maintain a sense of calm throughout the day.
Realise my music choice probably isn’t what most people would classify as “chill”. I mainly listen to electronic music so I find it easy to lose myself into the extremely repetitive percussion and melody.
