Yes this looks good to me.

You have two options that are most likely pre-installed: systemd-timer or cron
With systemd-timer you can run it as a user or as root. For your use case I would go with the user option for two reasons.
- The downloaded files will have the right permissions by default.
- Security. There is no reason why the service would need root access to your system.
For systemd-timer you need two files the .timer and the .system file.
your-timer.timer
[Unit] Description="Run your-service.service 5min after boot and every 24 hours relative to activation time" [Timer] OnBootSec=5min OnUnitActiveSec=24h Unit=your-service.service [Install] WantedBy=timers.targetyour-service.service
[Unit] Description=Download new podcasts [Service] Type=oneshot ExecStart=castget -cThese two files go into ~/.config/systemd/user/. Then run systemctl --user daemon-reload and systemctl --user enable your-timer.timer --now. If you want the service to also run if you are not logged in run sudo loginctl enable-linger youruser.
For cron it is less work. Just run cron -e and put your command in there preceded by the time it is supposed to run. The timeformat should be explained at the top of the file. I also don’t know if it will run if you are not logged in.
I hope I understand correctly what you mean. Lika a text based adventure game but instead of fixed options you write your action and the AI reacts to it.
So a developer could write his own LLM Model and define a setting on what he trains it and then the player have a text based adventure. The game dev has set the story but he player can write his own actions instead of using the predefined ones. The LLM then reacts to them so there is more dynamic in the game.
Is that what you mean for example? If so I would say that is a use case with the limitation that simply using chatgpt or similar would defeat the use case because it is a to general model.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Is this video a legitimate way to get Linux on LineageOS via Termux or is there a better recent method?English
4·2 年前First off all, it’s a legitimate way. He just goes through the install instructions from here (https://github.com/termux/termux-x11).
The one thing I would do differently is choosing the right package for your architecture or going with the universal package instead of the arm64 package as he proposes.
Lastly I want to add that that depending on what you want to do a graphical session is sometimes not necessary. Example: For tools like mov-cli for watching movie in the terminal, termux alone is enough, because they integrate with the android mpv app and don’t need a xorg session to display graphics.

Games@lemmy.world•6* months away now. If you're on 10, do you plan to upgrade? Make the jump to Linux?English
1·2 年前I don’t expect them to switch. I think it’s more likely they will stay until there games are no longer supported. Simply because a lot of people just don’t want or can’t edit the registry, because they think stats for people with technical knowledge. But I also don’t believe they will all switch to Linux.

6·2 年前Maybe 43% have hardware that is not supported by Windows 11. And don’t want to run windows 11 on unsupported hardware or go through the hassle of even installing on unsupported hardware.

Also because I just remembered and it might be relevant to you. If you shut your system down and it is not running at 6am the cron job will not run that day. With systemd-timer it would check if it missed it’s run because the system was powered off and the run after boot the same day.
