Yeah, I think so as well. The west is all off a sudden discovering there are nazis in Ukraine, and that there’s busification, and now Syrsky has been dismissed. I can’t imagine this is business as usual. There might also be panic that Russia will take over Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov, and Odessa too. So, they might be thinking of trying to wind the war down before that happens. But I can also see Europe doubling down and actually joining in too.

I think it’s basically that the working class is increasingly realizing that the oligarchs are fucking them over, but due to decades of indoctrination they’re unable to generalize this idea. So, they can’t bring themselves to accept that there is a ruling class, and that it’s a systemic issue. Instead, they lash out at individual oligarchs who are on the socially liberal spectrum. The liberals are doing exactly the same thing incidentally. Except for them it’s people like Musk and Thiel.

I think that’s probably the plan, although at this point it feels like these are more of schemes rather than actual plans. They just kind of fly by the seat of their pants here. What they don’t seem to understand though is that it is an economic war more than anything else. The attrition on the front is made possible by productive forces in the rear, and from what I see is that Russia is in a vastly better position in terms of productive economy than Europe is. This whole idea of Europe creating some sort of a war economy is just fantastical. Europe lacks cheap energy to do that, and there are already huge problems in the civilian economy right now which is what’s leading to public unrest across Europe. Diverting even more resources to producing weapons is only going to worsen the social crisis.

I suspect Russia would likely avoid doing that to be honest, but they do seem to have increasing success jamming them.

There’s also now the how row with Poland over UPA glorification which even the EU can’t ignore anymore. I kind of wonder if the west is getting ready to dump Ukraine if things start deteriorating fast on the front.

I mean honestly that would be an amazing outcome because China would be the only game in town at that point. And if a collapse of the tech industry in the west really does happen, then I expect that a lot of talent will end up leaving to China because that’s where jobs are. This is basically how Silicon Valley got bootstrapped when the US imposed Plaza Accord on Japan and crashed their economy.
