Lack of mental stimulation ( I would also add sence of acomplishment to go with that mental stimulation.) People like to solve problem and feel good about solving those problems. When you have nothing to engage your brain it turns to other things even when those things arnt real. If you do do things with your brain but you never get any reward for it you tend to look for more extream things.

I booted an old Windows VM the othere day. By old I mean last I booted it was like 6 months ago. Needed to do something that could only be done in windows. But after 3 hours of updating and 3 restarts I was finaly able to run the program I needed for 5 minutes then shut it down only to do it all over again in 6 months… every time I do this I hate it even more. Not to mention the 7 popups I had telling me to upgrade to 11 fallowed by your system doesnt meet the minimium requirments for Windows 11.

I suggest people look up Teflon too.

My dog only gets up and goes to the door when someone knocks if it’s pizza. Any other time mail, Amazon, door dash, Uber eats, no care in the world that someone is at the door. Pizza she is right there before they even knock.

I am using https://duplicati.com/ and https://www.backblaze.com/ ( use their b2 cloud storage its variable and 6$ a month for 1TB or less depending on how much you use) run a schedule beckup every night for my photos. It’s compressed and encrypted. I save a config file to my google so say if my house and server burn down. I just pull my config from google then redownload duplicati and boom pull my back up down. The whole set up backs up incremental so once you do the first back up its only changes that are uploaded. I love the whole set up.

Edit: You can also just pull files you need not the whole backup.

Nothing new. But I think it was 2019 China stopped taking our trash. It was no longer profitable to have someone sort it and “recycle”. I think it was Penn and Teller. A long time ago said only metals are profitable.

While I may agree with the waste of time and money, I see the whole thing of Olympics a waste of time and money but if people want to have some fun who am I to stop them. People find your use of the word disgusting well disgusting and that you recognize it as so even more intolerant. Maybe even bigoted? Also the whole thing from what I see falls under ART. Pilots. It’s been some time since I read about it. I read some of the small puddle jumper pilots make so little they qualify for SNAP. Sure flying the big boys makes a bunch of money though.

I never really understood the obsession to cover cameras. While yes you don’t want someone to hack it and yes I do cover mine. What are they going to do? Watch you fap? I really don’t care. I personally am much more concerned with the mic. I would hate for someone to record me saying something well not so pleasant. You can use your imagination. I rarely see people mention the mic. I see it mentioned a few times here but not much. I much rather have a kill switch for my mic.
