Love this, but I’m very grateful that I’m not living in Iraq at the moment. It must suck to live somewhere where a lot of money get’s shoved around behind your back and you’re always on the losing side.

In the Netherlands, nurses are among the few who can’t really go on strike. So every time the collective working conditions are renewed (usually every two years), they won’t quite get inflation correction, the hours get squeezed etcetera. Meanwhile, doctors and management do get the pay rizes and other benefits. This leads to the current situation where the hospitals and care centers are baffled to find out that not only less people will get educated to be a nurse anymore, but a lot of nurses seek re-education to leave the field. Meanwhile, the government still insists that nursing is not a job but a “calling”.

Purple earth hypothesis suggests that early photosynthesis wasn’t chlorophil based, but on a simpler molecule (retinal) which is purple colored. The Canfield ocean was supposed to have followed this time yielding a turquoise life, where the ocean was anoxic and sulfidic. That was then replaced during the great oxigenation event which lead to the current green earth.

If you look at stuff like the purple earth hypothises, the Canfield ocean, I’d definitely go with life finds a way.
