    I have never seen shell ducks, I had to look it up and read they are coastal birds here in the Netherlands. I do live in South Limburg now, butI did live in Bergen aan zee, never noticed them there although I should have. TIL.

      Thanks, these ducks were in Zuid-Holland 40 km (25 miles) from the coast. They are also spotted in Limburg sometimes.
