It’s pure campism. They never learned how not to pick sides. That’s why they call everyone a liberal, it’s not about your beliefs it’s about what side you are on.
More than that, it’s about what side you aren’t on. It’s not like Russia and China, for example, are perfectly aligned in their goals and will always be allies. But as long as they’re both against The West, that’s enough for them.
