I tend to play most of my playthoughs hollow and then take embers when I’m really struggling, it’s like the dragon ball scene when they take off the weights they always wear!
I take Andre’s meaning to be: don’t lose hope and give in to the mindlessness of being hollow.
Hollow is a spectrum, as is further demonstrated in DS2.
