Hitler’s crimes are pretty well documented and substantiated with paper trails and physical evidence, unlike those against North Korea or Mao or Russia.

Comparing to real events falls flat when the conditions or series of events don’t perfectly line up. Far easier to compare to an ambiguous “authoritarianism” and cite a caricature of very real famines to stress the human cost and ground it via a reference anything material.

This won’t be the first time I’ve referenced this on this site but there’s this godawful Chuck Norris action movie called Invasion USA where an army of “terrorists” attack Florida from Cuba. I think. The plot is threadbare. Anyways, it’s a steaming pile of dogshit and all the bad guys are just “misc militant” guys in fatigues.

I’m imagining this movie plays on repeat at the WSJ

I mean, cocaine isn’t exactly good, but it’s not currently a big contributor to Americas drug problems. Meth and opioids are so much more deadly and problematic.

Who cares if someone gets an expensive, short and relatively mild high, with a little cardio-toxicity and rage? It’s not as big of a deal as deadly opioid OD’s or how meth turns you into a mess. Cocaine’s biggest harm is probably what the cartels do to the source country, not the affects the drug has on the users.

i mean it is a cardiotoxin because it interfaces with some receptor sites involved in heart beat regulation. i think it’s pretty safe in it’s natural form (chewing some leaves for a buzz)

i have read low dose coca infusions are vastly more effective then caffeine and basically as safe

fun fact: there have been witnesses to kilos stamped with the presidential seal. you will have to trust me on this. related to a very famous political dynasty

around 2/3 of people who use cocaine will experience psychotic symptoms at some point. about 1 in 6 long term addicts will develop long a long term psychotic disorder.

i worked at a halfway house for many years. the real heavy coke heads pretty much all had mental health issues related to cocaine psychosis. like, some really serious mental health issues in some cases. permanent cognitive disability type stuff. changed how i viewed the drug

long term heavy use also destroys your heart in permanent ways

have fun with coke very sparingly, comrades. if you find you do it every weekend or during the week maybe take a long break and re-evaluate if you are becoming dependent. well, for any recreational drug for that matter.

That’s David Dees, weird conspiracy theorist, I think he’s got some libertarian-esque vibes, sovereign citizen type. Criticized the duopoly but from the far-right perspective. Think he died over the pandemic
