Thanks to the community for helping me feel more sane in 2025. People sometimes pushed back and when I’d look into an issue I could see where they were coming from If I didn’t agree with them 100% Most of the other times, you guys helped me learn and let me know that I wasn’t alone in the wasteland. i am! im just drawing and having fun today. hoping in the new year i can get on more welfare and get over my brainworms about being on welfare. 2025 was pretty chill for me aside from the horrors, but that was mostly bc i got out of a severely abusive relationship the year prior. so hopefully next year is better too! well, it’ll still be a low bar honestly, but still!!

While I am incredibly turned on by the Brezhnev eyebrow waggle, believe it or not I was actually reading fanon today. Nearing the end of Wretched of the Earth. Didn’t expect medical accounts at the end tbh but I think it contributes a lot to the thesis.

On a serious note though, Fanon truly was a psychiatrist through and through and I think the reports humanize the people who are subjected to colonialism in a way that almost never happens in the west. I agree with you and I think it really helps to transform what is abstract to us here in the imperial core into something very tangible.

I had a decent new year. Instead of getting drunk in public and making an ass of myself like last year, I got drunk with a few friends at home where we ate food and played a video game called golf with your friends.
We got my partner’s sister too drunk and she has been puking since I went to bed and into then morning. She only had 5 drinks so I am genuinely concerned. Glad you didn’t get drunk in public comrade, I cannot say the same

My mental health has always been pretty shit but it’s nosedived even further since 2024. I don’t see this year being anything new.
But I am glad to have this community. It’s nice to know I’m not alone in the world, even if it does feel like that sometimes.

I’ve prepared some pasta salad and now I’m going to try making turkish delight again. I’ve tried the past 2 christmas holidays and they did not turn out, but I watched the Tasting History YT video on it and I think using his/that method I can do it. Doing rose water flavour. If it’s successful I might make a bunch more flavours and give them out to people in the new year.
