They’re workers at the end of the day. The problem is that the DHS is a right-wing jobs program and embezzlement scheme. These people should have been put to work repairing roads and bridges, expanding commuter rail, broadband, electrical infrastructure, etc.

You could say the same about cops, clowns, or car salesmen.

I feel for them from a class standpoint, but they are still doing a job that is discriminatory, steals from people frequently, invades privacy, and does not actually make flying significantly safer, considering how frequently they fail when tested. I’m sad that they are having to struggle, but that doesn’t mean that I have to like them or respect the job they chose to do.

Right? Like are we scraping the bottom so hard that I really have to feel bad for the TSA and side with fucking Iran on something?

The White House said ICE officers have been handing out water to travelers waiting in long security lines and offered to hold spots for those who need to step out of line temporarily.

Most lines I’ve been in, you can ask the people behind you to hold your space, we don’t need special people for that.

Otoh, I’d rather they be water-handlers and line-sitters instead of out there murdering people, so …

Trump suggested Wednesday he could deploy National Guard members to airports experiencing long wait times to assist as well. However, it’s unclear what role they could play in alleviating congestion due to understaffed TSA agents.

They could hand out water to people standing in long lines, and …

Must feel so good as TSA member to work for free while thugs working for ICE getting top dollar to hand out water bottles. I’m sure that makes TSA workers work harder/s.
