Great Lakes region, USA. April 2026.
I’ve been trying to take decent photos of this bird for a while now. They’ve finally showed back up in large numbers and I got my chance. They’re one of the smallest birds in the US and they rarely sit still for more than a split second.






I’d love to visit the Great Lakes Region and these pics make me want to even more. Great stuff.

Thank you. They are very stunning birds. I’m going to try and get some more photos of them raising their crest. They look so pretty with their gold and orange crest up.

Yup, that one is my favorite. I also like the bokeh balls. I have a few others in that sequence that are good too.
