Yes, the BBC editors, with absolute certainty are working on the knowledge that a not small % of readers will not pick up on the word usage/nuance.

Is not about manipulating everyone, is about manipulating a % of people. This is how propaganda works in the real world. No propaganda is 100% effective. So they just work with what they can get, ittle by little they move the nettle of people to the desired worldview. This is nothing new.

At least say, 20%-30% will absolutely absorb the story, and internalize it. Breaking the language of stories while also having the geopolitical and historical knowledge to parse the story for bias and accuracy is only done by small percentage of readers.

That’s not to say that a good chunk of people will not sense that there something wrong or partly BS.

The CBC, up here in Canada does the exact same shit and a huge chunk of Canadians simply think that the CBC is objective and not biased and will just believe with it, any takes they publish they will absorb. And will get upset if you say they are just a mouth piece of the Feds, like the BBC is.

I think a lot of people think that a paper can’t be biased unless they literally print “muahahaha”
