Brooklyn Firearms Co Slocum pocket revolver.
I’m excellent condition. Was owned by my great grandfather. Neat lil thing. Really weird cylinder that doesn’t flip out but instead each chamber individually slides open as you rotate the cylinder allowing you to load shots one at a time. Never seem a system like that.
Can’t shoot it since it takes .32 rimfire which hasn’t been made most places since WW2. Heard tell some was made in Brazil semi recently but stopped around 2015. Old boxes of ammo online are atleast $250. Plus probably wouldn’t wanna accidentally damage it anyway by shooting it.
Just a cool little antique.
Edit: pic of it ready to load

I’m excellent condition.
nice to meet you excellent condition, I’m very good to fine

Wish I was actually in excellent condition
Blasting my slocum revolver
They call me the revolver because I can shoot five times then I’m spent

That is a fascinatingly odd design; the trigger and grip area makes me think of a derringer
Also,
slocum

Named after it’s creator.
“Hey baby they call me Mr Slocum…”
“Yes because it’s my actual name”

That’s pretty common in oldschool revolvers. I think the swing out cylinders are a little more finicky and complicated to manufacture, so it took a while for them to be the standard. But obviously it’s a better design so it did win out eventually.
blued steel
Oh, that’s purdy
It’s definitely the prettiest gun I’ve personally held.
What an interesting mechanism; I wonder what the motivation was for designing it that way.
I think it was due to Rollin Whites patent on bored through cylinders at the time. Basically capitalism said that no one else could make a revolver the way we think of revolvers now unless you paid the guy who thought of drilling holes in a cylinder. So people got creative.
What’s more reliable than 1 moving part? 5 smaller moving parts! Innovation!
How I feel whenever I play with it. I’m amazed it hasn’t broken lol
@Tervell@hexbear.net thought this was your post at first
Can you show with chambers open?
Sure. Should of at first!

Ok that is not what I expected at all. Very weird!
It’s very weird and cool. Totally impractical and awkward but neat
That is very cool
