Here’s some actual expert tips. “Flat bar” and “upright riding position” don’t belong in the same sentence. One needs a trekking or cruiser bar with some rise, like 120mm or better. Hybrids are basically heavy gravel bikes without drop bars. Just because one can fit 2.4" tires on a 20mm rim, doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. If one really wants to jam off-road, full-suspension. Full stop. There’s so much more and finding out is half the fun. This article sucks though.
