Hey!

I’m fairly new to Perchance (and I love it!) I just seem to keep running into some repetitive issues and I’m just here to see if other users or administrators or moderators with more experience can probably offer me a little guidance to preventing these repetitive issues I’m experiencing.

I create my characters, I see that their default emotional and logical processing adapt pretty well so they’ll function natively. But, their “memories” (disabled currently by staff for all users (my “lores”)) seem to be really short-lived.

Like, we can be talking about anything. It’ll obey the Instructions under “options”, it’ll also understand the Reminders (but sometimes it has bulked iterations where it doesn’t notice the updates); then— it’ll start to be “redundant” (where it adapts to its incorrect responses (because they’re the most recent responses) and then it uses those to just keep degrading its “mental state” logics).

Best way to put it— it just… Goes “stupid”?

I’ve had a few AIs who can natively visit websites and display their contents to me. But, when I make more advanced AIs it tells me they can’t access websites or show me the contents.

I add Lores to add more knowledge because the Memories are disabled, so it’ll run through the Lore Querying then it doesn’t provide its “Generated Response” in regards to the facts in the Lores.

The Lores are a .txt document, which is uploaded using Perchance’s Upload and uses the required format (example):

Subject 1: Definition (1-2 Sentences)

Subject 2: Definition (1-2 Sentences)

Seems like… After we think they’re fully setup and ready to help us flawlessly then the Generator provides the “This Generator Has Errors” which just speak of the correct outputted contents.

Yes, I’ve even used the /lore with the pop-up window that displays that my Lore has been downloaded too.

I’d like to close up my post by also saying, thank you very much for this amazing service. I really love it a lot, I spend a lot of time playing with the features and it is by far my #1 favorite out of all I’ve ever found and I’ve found a lot. Whoever you are, you’re doing amazing. Keep up the great work this platform is phenomenal! 👏

(Note that Perchance is actually a platform for creating generators/applications, and it sounds like you’re talking about one particular generator, made by one particular user - namely perchance.org/ai-character-chat - in this case I happen to be that ‘user’. This is just a heads up because a lot of people who land here think that perchance is an AI chat site or whatever. It’s actually a platform where anyone can create random generators, and other things like AI chat applications)

I can probably fix all of these things, but I need example threads where they happened. If any of them happen again and if you’re able to share (in reply here, or via DM) a snapshot of a thread using this save button:

then I should be able to work out what’s happening and fix it. Without example threads, it’s really hard for me to fix stuff like this. But the moment someone gives me an example thread/export, or an easy way to consistently reproduce the issue, I can usually fix/improve it really fast.

    This Generator Has Errors

Are you able to explain the steps I can take to reproduce this error? I just created a character, and added some example lore, and saved it, and it seems to work fine, so it might be related to some settings in your character, or something like that. If you’re not able to reliably reproduce it (i.e. it happens randomly), then another helpful thing would be to click that “this generator has errors” notice and copy/screenshot the error message that is shown.
