    I need that fucking cable I’ve been saving for probably 8 years and never used and I can’t find it anywhere.

    It’s a 3.5mm extension cable. To go from the drum kit to the audio interface.

    Yesterday on the way home I saw the fire brigade breaking out somebody stuck in one of the old cast iron toilets. Hope you all have a better day than that unfortunate person 😸

      When I was little I got my hand stuck in a trolley. All I heard was a staff member say “I’ll get the butcher”. My dad was a butcher. I knew what they did. I cried. The butcher brought out a tub of fat.

    Hooray made it down to the beach.

    Is good to be down here though.

    Resident magpie remembers me so appeased it w/ cheee. Really makes you wonder just how much memory they have. Haven’t been here for months and the thing was right at my feet without a second thought.

    I think I’m going to bail on that 1st birthday this weekend. The only people I know at this birthday are the parents and they’re going to be busy socialising with everyone, and I’ll probably feel awkward in this setting being childless. I’ll just message the day before that I’m sick and don’t want to spread germs. Does this make me a bad friend? I’ll plan a catch up with this friend in a few weeks and still give a present then.

    Nooooo, fav banh mi place nearby has had a ~glow up and is now offering heaps more fancy things, looks like it’s changed ownership. Unfortunately means it’s no longer reasonable to nip there on a lunch break, boo.

    … though I do need to try the Salted Vietnamese Coffee…!

      My fav local banh mi place is still slinging loaded rolls for $7.50 and is never that busy, I hope it never gets a glow up. The salted coffee sounds great tho.

      I kind of hope Hungs Bakery doesn’t sell out and go up market because the tofu banh mi is absolutely legit especially for that price and speed. But I’m guessing so long as those commission housing towers are the, Victoria Street won’t gentrify like the rest of Richmond

    Took the Minipeelers to Highpoint today and had a fun time topping up our supply of trackpants, T-shirts and other things that were not so practical lol. Some Lush products were purchased and bathing indulged in once we got home. The house smells a treat!

    I decided to check the status of my tax return and my voluntary super contribution has been reset to $0!!! Wtf! However, it’s still being processed (“Balancing accounts”) and I don’t want to slow anything down so I think I’ll just wait until it’s been finalised and maybe it’ll be added back in by then. I’ll be a very unhappy camper if I have to amend the lodgement and delay getting my money back…

        I was going to be in that position due to an improperly taxed second job and a taxable cash scholarship, but dumped a load into super to get around it. I really need that tax return and not a tax bill, so it’d be nice to get that processed properly…

        Yeah, I got the letter confirming the NOI and saw the deposit in my super balance minus 15% tax several days before I lodged my tax return. I didn’t enter a value for TFN under my super contributions (just the fund name, fund ABN and amount contributed) because I couldn’t find a TFN for the super fund (I assume that’s for SMSFs or something), so not sure if that was an issue.

        But, my ATO account has been a bit weird, random errors when logging in (not a scam) and there’s a new “payments” prompt at the top of my home page even though there should be nothing outstanding

        Edit: I’m a goose, the “debit” account in the payment prompt would be the amount I owe if I didn’t have deductions. Sooo I have no idea why it isn’t through yet. I’ll wait and see…

    I’ve been so successful in weatherstripping around the sliding door the dog door panel is inserted into that now the air pressure is blowing the dog flap open and letting in even more cold air than was coming through the gaps.

    Ok, I despise Amazon, but sometimes you can’t find something anywhere else. I now accidentally have 30 days of their TV thing. What should I check out?

          You can just cancel it now, you’ll still get your 30 days free but won’t have to worry about forgetting and having it auto renew. Just ignore all the warnings about what you miss by not having a subscription, they just put them there to make people reconsider cancelling. You are just cancelling the auto-renew of the subscription not the membership itself.

        Compare violent to opening sequence S1 American Gods?? Violence is fine by me if it has purpose and plot. That Bone Tomahawk bit was a shock, but made sense.

          I don’t even remember any violence at the start of American Gods. I just remember absolute boredom. I didn’t even finish the first episode the first time I watched it, and then slogged through a few episodes after being assured it would get really good and be worthwhile. Spoiler: it wasn’t. I didn’t enjoy any of it in the slightest.
