It’s nice plant!
An old highschool friend of mine who’s a botanist of some flavor said it’s a type of “persicaria”.
If it helps, this thing:
A.) Is quite thirsty.
B.) Selected “toughness” for its tier 2 perk. This thing has wilted quite a few times, got chewed on by the cat, cheated the garbage truck, probably more stuff I don’t know about.

It is also present as an introduced and invasive species in North America, where it was first noted in the Great Lakes region in 1843 and has now spread through most of the continent.

Yeah this fucker is one of the invasives at my wetland project.
Yeah I was hoping it was a native plant.
I’ll just keep an eye on it then.
