      Celsius isn’t actually metric, per say. Its based on the freezing point of water while farenheight is based on the freezing point of mercury.

      Celcius is what most of the world used because 0 is where water freezes and is very relevant to the human condition, hence why its the most used.

      It was adopted as part of the metric SI system but unlike all the units developed for metric which actually use the above scale, I do not believe there is any practical use for this with celcius.

      Kelvin does use this however.
