“The working class thinks we are corporate elitists, what could we do about it? Hey, how about we take the republican corporate elitists to join us as well, that’ll show 'em!”

Anyway, it’s a good moment to celebrate that the country is over.

I will remind people of this boondoggle at every opportunity, forever. Biden and Harris bungled this so hard that it’s difficult to not see it as willful action from “professional politicians.”

Would he? I’m not convinced that this is anything less than a manifestation of the total rot of our society.

Our civic institutions are not designed to deal with the level of dis and misinformation flooding us.

This. People have been given an alternate reality to live in, so complex and all-encompassing that—unless they’ve grown up to have an appreciation for critical thinking—all the thinking’s been done for them.

Until we fix the disinformation, nothing sane is going to work. Things are only getting worse.

This. I always think, the only reason Trump won the first time, is because people voted for him to protest nominating Hillary instead of Bernie.

I was one of those dumbasses. Im sorry that i let everyone down. I regret it, i do. Thats why i dont understand how trump got reelected. He clearly cheated right? So why did harris just concede unstead of fighting back. Fuck elon was giving out million dollar checks. How is he not in jail because that mightve been the deciding factor in so many young and dumb boys going out to vote thinking they too might get rich quick.

The thing that pains me the most, is that I don’t understand “why”. Why most of Americans voted for the guy that clearly doesn’t share Your values. Anybody’s values. Is it just plain ol’ racism? Sexism? The guy ruined Your economy. Is responsible for millions of deaths. Is a convicted fellon. Is 51 percent of Your country in a cult? Am I to dumb to understand?I would like to know the thought process of an average American.

People were googling “Why is Biden not on the ballot” on November 5th, the number of people who protested Hillary’s nomination over Sanders must have been infinitely small… Oh well look at that, she got the popular vote, so it’s just the electoral college that was the issue after all, guess I was right!

I believe this too. 2020 Biden did good but there were already questions about his age. It was clear 2024 Biden wasn’t going to be able to do it with his age and the headwinds he faced.

MAYBE a primary would have selected a winner if he had chosen not to run from the start and someone had plenty of time to introduce themselves and craft a good message (and not just 100 days).

But with 100 days we needed a well-known personality with the right message. Bernie is obviously extremely well known and speaks to just the right people that Biden and then Kamala were having trouble reaching - working class, young men.

Biden was a milquetoast politician, on the wrong side of decisions, for most of his 50+ year political career.

Sanders has always been more authentic and has consistently platformed his views.

I think it’d be the same result. I think he dropped out because his election projections werent good and were only getting worse after that debate, and Kamala was a hail mary to try and salvage it.

Yeah his very limited contributions to the campaign sure reminded us all of how great he was as a campaigner. Like when they confined him to a zoom call with supporters and he word saladed his way into calling Trump supporters “garbage”. Biden, a real master of messaging, he surely would have overcome the 15 point deficit he had in the swing states, the 80% plus of all voters saying he was too old to have another term, being 30 points underwater in his approval rating, and inspired the masses with his sharp populist messaging.

Ffs Biden should never have tried to run for reelection.

Biden was objectively less coherent than Trump. And I don’t say that to praise Trump, it’s just reality. Also the media did a great job of sane washing Trump, cutting out specific sentences he said, rather than letting voters see the full incoherent rambling. But Trump did a better job of forming sentences, I’m sorry but that’s true. Go back and listen to Biden’s full remarks when he made the garbage comment, somewhere in that word salad it sounded like he was about to refer to his home town as being in Puerto Rico, realizing his mistake he pivoted and just shot out the garbage remark.

On the plus side, voters are going to be treated to 4 years of uninterrupted exposure to Trump’s ramblings as his mind continues to diminish. The media can’t sane wash that.
