hello, I have just recently made an account here! I am Evelyn, I’m a trans woman, I love movies and want to make them someday. I lead an incredibly unhealthy lifestyle. Film was my introduction to socialism through the films of Mosfilm. They were so good I ended up reading more about marxism and one thing led to another and here I am. I don’t pretend to be an expert on anything though. I’m happy to be here and hope I can intergrate well into the community and all you cool people!

welcome!
Yo, I watched Soy Cuba and thought it was absolutely amazing. I don’t remember if Come and See and Stalker were under Mosfilm but I also enjoyed those. I have The Human Condition trilogy and The Ascent on my list too. What else should I know about?
Come and See and Stalker were both Mosfilm! The Human Condition trilogy actually wasn’t however. I’d really recommend the works of Eisenstein, especially his later works like Ivan the Terrible, absolutely fantastic. That and the documentary about fascism, “Triumph over Violence”. Harrowing stuff - but essential imo.
Thank you

Depends on what genres you like. Solaris (sci fi) and July Rain (romance) are my personal favs
Dersu Uzala (bromance)
Seriously though, it’s a good movie.

Thanks, I’m actually not a huge Flaming lips fan, haven’t listened to them that much. But the phrase captures my ethos and yoshimi battles the pink robots, pt. 1 makes me cry

It’s a pretty angsty song - lyrics are as follows:
"Love in our life
Is just too valuable, oh, to feel
For even a second without it
But life without death
Is just impossible, oh, to realize
Something is ending within us"
Hell of a way to describe atomization under capitalism.
Hi! Welcome!
Recently I have been on a crime comedy kick. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Nice Guys, and just last night London Calling are my recent favs and recs.
