The clowns are already accusing each other of betrayal. Looks like old rivalries are reemerging as the vassalized EU is becoming more and more disunited and desperate. As soon as the EU and NATO collapses, they’ll be at each other’s throats again.
Oops, updated, and yeah that’s what I expect as well. People keep treating the EU like it’s a country, but the reality is that it’s a bunch of states that have deep seated animosities towards each other. Now that things are going sour, everybody is going to be flinging feces at each other.

Nationalism causes it.
The EU came about on the back of a continent-wide decline in nationalism as people recognised its association with what brought the continent to war. This led to a general embarrassment with overt displays of nationalism (flag shagging) and the continent culturally played down nationalism and played up a faux-internationalist culture between EU countries.
That is being undone and nationalism is rising. WW2 lessons are being forgotten because they were only passed down from folk to folk with no state-level efforts against nationalism because liberals do not oppose it and think it’s good for them.
Nationalism always trends towards ultranationalism.

Macron didn’t want the war to start in the first place. He was the only European leader consistently sitting down with Putin to try and prevent its start during the breakdown of the Minsk agreements.
I think I remember reports of him also being really disingenuous about negotiation procedures, refusing to recognize the Donbass representatives as legitimate while insisting that having “legitimate” representatives of Donbass is the only way for negotiations to continue. I might be confused ,though
